Buyer’s Initial Assessment

This quick and effective survey can be very useful for an out-of-town or distant buyer who is considering the purchase of a vessel from afar. The surveyor examines the vessel and reports his observations, digital photos, and a preliminary estimate of value back to the client.

A short inspection by an expert surveyor greatly reduces the risk of proceeding with a contract offer “sight unseen” and allows long-distance clients to be selective and informed when purchasing a boat. A buyer’s initial assessment saves clients on expenses, time and travel, and allows them make knowledgeable decisions.

Buyer’s Pre-Purchase Survey & Appraisal

This “Condition & Valuation” analysis is a comprehensive inspection conducted when purchasing a new or used vessel. Structure, condition and operation of all on-board systems and machinery are closely examined, and where possible “under load.” This survey includes an out-of-water inspection of the bottom of the vessel and a sea-trial. On sailboats, a visual inspection of the rig at deck level and aloft are also conducted.

Insurance Survey & Appraisal

This survey and appraisal is necessary for insurance companies, marine lenders, as well as estate settlements.

Damage/Claim Investigations
